Bring these 5 elements into your life for the next 2 weeks and notice how much more grounded you feel.

The 5 Elements of life are:
Spiritual Force/Aether, Earth, Water, Air, Fire.
When we continuously bring these elements into our life each day we feel happier, calmer and more balanced through and through.

Spiritual Force/Aether

Our spiritual force is the element that all the others descend from.  This element was officially added in the late 19th century and is sometimes referred to as ‘quintessence’.  Of all the elements, this is the only one which is not a physical element and is the most rarefied of them all.  To tap into your Spiritual Energy, you can do a handful of different things: Yoga, meditation, prayers/chanting.  If you do want to try meditating you can incorporate some positive energy mantras to help clear your mind and harness your energy.

Earth

When we think of Earth we can meditate on its beautiful and healing crystals and stones, the soil in which we grow food, the plants and animals it sustains and even visualize it from space as a gentle reminder of our celestial island.  Going for a walk through nature is our best bet.  When that is not always possible, having a plant or plants in your home and office is another way to celebrate the earth.  Not only does it add fresh oxygen to your day but it’s a reminder of God’s creations.

Water

It is very important to remember that humans are mostly water-based, so our entire being already resonates with Water.  Drinking water is the most important factor each day. The best amount for our body is eight to ten glasses a day. If we want to go deeper then having a long, hot shower or bath also helps the body feel calmer.  My favourite way to bring the Water element into my life is to have my continuously flowing water sculptures nearby.  I have one in my home as well as at work.  Water sculptures come in various styles, here is the one in my office and I also have one in my home.

Air

Our breath happens effortlessly by the grace of God/Universe. It is also connected to the mind, wisdom, spirits and the soul.  Still it’s very important for us to set aside time each day for conscious breath work. This could be in the morning, mid day or evening.  The simple act of sitting up straight; placing our hands in our lap;  closing our eyes and doing six complete Breath Cycles by inhaling long and deep through our nose and then exhaling long and deep through our nose will instantly reset our day.

Fire

The Element of Fire has great power for forging will and determination.  It is a source of energy that requires careful moderation and control or you WILL get burned.  Try lighting a candle everyday!  The flame helps the subconscious mind focus, you can also stare at the flickering light of a candle as you meditate.  Scented candles are the best and you can find ones that are geared to help relieve stress. Here are some of my favourites: #1, #2, #3.
